I am a former United States Marine and Over-the-Road Truck Driver turned Quilter. My husband and I used to team drive, but now he is out there on the roads solo. Don't tell anybody but he's got a sewing machine in that truck! He's been known to make a quilt top or two!
As for me, a dear friend turned me on to quilting not that long ago in 2011 and I have not looked back. After quilting my second quilt top on my old Kenmore sewing machine, I drove 1000 miles to buy a used a Gammill longarm. I have to say I admire and appreciate those quilters that hand-quilt or finish their treasures on domestic sewing machines. I do not have the patience for that, but the beauty of the workmanship is awesome and there will ALWAYS be a place for it in quilting. After all, it started there didn't it?
Since the time I bought that little 18 inch throat machine, I have learned so much.....but oh, my, there is always something new to grasp and improve on. In 2013, I upgraded to a Gammill Optimum Statler Stitcher and I have been in quilting heaven ever since. I found a creative side of me that I did not know was there. The Lord says we all have gifts and talents, but it took many years for mine to shine. I have quilted over 500 customer quilts since 2012 from basic baby quilts to custom heirloom treasures and all are special to me. I also longarm quilt for Quilts of Valor. As a veteran, this is a task I undertake with great joy. It is a blessing to honor those that have given so much for our nation.
My sons are grown and I have grandchildren that are precious and two mini schnauzers that keep me company while hubby is on the road. My studio is in my home and I see people by appointment. Call and come see me. I will do my best to make you feel at home.
Blessings,
Terri Rogers
